Bandiera arancione

The Bandiera Arancione (Orange Flag) is the hallmark of quality for tourism and environment of the Touring Club Italiano designed for the smaller towns of the hinterland that are distinguished by an offer of excellence and quality accommodation.

The recognition is awarded based on several criteria including: development of the cultural heritage, protection of the environment, the culture of hospitality, access and availability of resources, quality of accommodation, catering, and typical products.

The Bandiera Arancione is one of the tools with which the Touring Club assures tourists quality and hospitality, and provides places with a tool for development.
The Bandiera Arancione territorial programme, in tune with the principles on which the TCI is based, encourages knowledge of places that are lesser-known but of great merit, and stimulates the traveller to visit these places to enjoy them, but at the same time take care of them precisely because that are so precious.

The Municipality of Busseto was awarded the Bandiera Arancione in 2005 for the following reasons:

The location offers the visitor an efficient tourist information service, thanks to the presence of a well-signposted and well-organised office. Optimal availability of the sites of importance under the cultural-historical aspect with the further possibility of taking advantage of a selection of integrated visits. Moreover, the town offers a calendar of appointments and events that is rich and varied.
